Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

My Dad

Saturday 12th Jul
On the 20th May 2020, I lost my dad to Parkinson's.  I helped look after him and I saw first hand what a heartbreaking disease this is.  Losing him during the pandemic was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced.  One thing I can take away is that I was there throughout it all. 
He brought me up as a single Dad and I owe who I am today to him.  I also feel that being 10,000 feet up in the air is the closest to heaven to him that I can ever possibly get.   

I am a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer at Nuffield Northampton and I have set up group exercise classes specifically for more mature males that involve exercises to help improve strength, balance, co-ordination and fitness. These classes enables these members to continue to perform vital every day tasks such as getting out of the chair, carrying shopping and how to get up from the floor safely. I even deliver a Men's only Aqua class which has been running for two years.   

My passion for Fitness is more than just seeing members get stronger, it's stems back to seeing my dad struggle to get out of his chair! I can now make a difference not only within my job role but raising money for this amazing charity.
