Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Sunday 25 April and would really appreciate your support!
My reasons for running for Parkinson's UK are that my husband Christopher was diagnosed with Parkinson's back in 2022.
We've learnt a lot and had the support from Parkinson's UK. Learning how to live with and manage the symptoms, as there is no cure.
His most noticeable symptom is the tremor in his right arm, which can be frustrating and he has had to modify how he does things. The hidden symptoms are the loss of sense of smell, very little sweating, problems swallowing and acting out his dreams causing him to jump/fall out of bed!! (As he was jumping off his horse!), to name a few.
We know we are only at the start of the journey as he still works and drives. But our future will be different from what we had planned. So hopefully raising money for Parkinson's UK may bring about new treatments that will be available in time to help Christopher, live better for longer.
