Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
As many people know, our lovely Gran passed away in October 2019.
She was an amazing person, bursting with personality and love for her grandchildren, chocolate and Coronation Street. She really was my best friend and shaped me into the person I am today.
I was very lucky to have been blessed with her by my side all of my childhood and into adulthood too. However, sadly, she alongside my grandad suffered a long, tedious battle against Parkinson’s Disease for most of my life. Parkinson’s stripped her of independence and sadly stopped her from enjoying retirement and life as a grandparent to the fullest.
Parkinson’s Disease has had a profound impact on our family and I hope that in running at the end of September I can raise a little to give back to Parkinson’s UK in honour of our lovely Grandparents.
