TCS London Marathon Sunday 2027

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Sunday 25 April and would really appreciate your support!

I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease 9 years ago this coming March. My first symptom occurred when out running 3 months previously when my right arm began to tremor. This disease has rocked my world but moving into my 10th year with this illness I’m no longer fighting against it. It’s my uninvited guest. I’m going to attend to it because it lives with me now. I’m going to lessen its impact on me as much as possible. My guest is known as stiffness and pain and the best antidote for this is exercise.

My goal has nothing got to do with finishing times nor even finishing, it’s the journey. It’s about reclaiming my fitness. it’s to get back to what I love doing which is running, believing in myself and looking for solutions to problems and taking care of my uninvited guest.

Those who know me and have read the previous paragraph may be sceptical about finishing not being the goal. It actually isn’t but let me reassure you I’ll fucking finish it, I don’t know how but I’ll find a solution on this journey.

Thanks for your support
