Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m equal parts excited and terrified to announce that I’ll be running the TCS 2027 London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK!

In 2022, my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and since then my family has seen first hand the difference Parkinson’s UK can make.

From their helplines to, more importantly for us, their support groups, Parkinson’s UK has been there to provide advice, understanding and a community when we’ve needed it.

That makes this a hugely personal cause for me. Unfortunately, the reality for us is that my Dad isn't going to get better, but the money raised can help fund vital research, support and services so that, hopefully, fewer families have to go through the same. 

So far this year I’ve ran two half marathons and I’m currently training for my third in October, but this will be my first marathon. The idea that I’m going to run double that distance makes me feel a little sick, but prepare for me to make this my entire personality for the next seven months!
