Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
For 19 years, my husband Philip has lived with Parkinson's disease, a condition that affects every part of daily life but has never managed to take away his strength, humour or determination. Watching him navigate this journey has shown me what true resilience looks like. It's also shown me how vital research and support are for everyone affected by Parkinson's.
So, I'm taking part in a fundraising walk on 18 July in Liverpool to raise money for Parkinson's UK. Their work gives hope to families like ours - funding research, offering essential support services and campaigning for better care.
What is Parkinson's disease?
Parkinson's or 'PD" is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, balance and countless other aspects of life. More than 150,000 people in the UK are living with it and there is no cure.
Why your support matters
Your donation will help:
1) fund life-changing research into better treatments and ultimately a cure
2) provide support and advice for people living with Parkinson's and their families and friends
3) ensure no one has to face Parkinson's alone.
