Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
It’s not something we talk about a lot publicly but many of you reading this may already be aware that after not being right for a long time, finally last summer, my absolute hero, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
Since then, the condition continues to progress at a pace and it feels as if a small piece of him is being taken away every day.
But despite some nasty symptoms including going almost entirely without sleep for weeks at a time, he continues to put a brave face on it and remains as positive as possible. I cannot tell you how inspiring that is.
If I could take the pain and symptoms away from him and carry them myself I would do it in a heartbeat. But of course I can’t.
So this is my small attempt to push myself out my comfort zone and do something for him.
So thank you for visiting my page and for taking the time to read this. I am so grateful for your support.
