Run 50/50 2026

Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Parkinson’s was part of my family’s life for over 20 years. My grandfather, Pops, lived with it bravely and with humour, and sadly it’s what took him from us.

Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed. It places a huge emotional and physical burden on the people who care for them too. My Nana was an incredible carer, and I saw first-hand how much strength, patience and love that takes.

In the UK, around 145,000 people are living with Parkinson’s. While there’s still no cure, research is making real progress, helping people live better for longer and supporting families along the way.

To support this work, I’m taking part in Run 50/50 for Parkinson’s UK, which means running 50 miles over 50 days. For someone who doesn’t run and actively dislikes exercise, this is very much a challenge.

I’m doing this in Pops’ memory, and for families like ours.

If you can donate, even a small amount, I’d be incredibly grateful.
