On 13 September 2026, I’ll be taking part in the Great North Run to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.
Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. Around 166,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK. Parkinson's is on the rise. In the UK today, someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes. By 2050, the number of people with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million.
This will be my fifth Great North Run. It’s never easy, and I’m definitely not a natural runner (I was always the asthmatic straggler at the back during school cross-country runs!), but I’m determined to give it my all and raise as much as possible for this incredible cause.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help fund groundbreaking research and provide vital support to people living with Parkinson’s and their families.
