Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I'm running this marathon for my amazing mum, who has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Mum has always been active, full of energy and someone who faces life head-on. She’s had her fair share of challenges, but she is one of the strongest, bravest and most fearless people I know, with a stubborn streak that never lets her give up! She is kind, caring and has always been there for us all. She’s our rock, and we love her more than words can say. Now, I want to do something for her. This will be my first marathon, and I’ll be honest, I’m not a natural runner! The training will be tough, and 26.2 miles will be a huge challenge, but whenever things get hard, I’ll think of Mum and the strength and determination she shows every single day. If she can face the challenges that Parkinson’s brings, then I can dig deep and keep putting one foot in front of the other. I’m running to raise money for Parkinson’s UK to help fund vital research, improve support and make a difference to the lives of everyone affected by this condition. Every donation, no matter how small, means so much to me and will help me keep going when the miles get tough. This one’s for you, Mum. ❤️
