Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Your mum, son or friend. Anyone can get Parkinson’s, young or old. Every hour, two more people are diagnosed.

There are over 40 symptoms. Tremor. Pain. Anxiety. Everyone’s experience is different. And there’s no cure. Yet.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Parkinson’s UK. With your help we can fund better care, drive research breakthroughs and one day find a cure.

We are the Parkinson’s community. We can shape Parkinson’s research. We can transform lives. Together we can find a cure.

Why am I running a half marathon for Parkinsons?

Tuesday 11th Mar
This year, my grandad got diagnosed with Parkinson's, after over a year of being told different things about what it could be.
I want to push myself out of my comfort zone, and do something I never ever imagined myself doing.
Only last year I was training to run 5k, I couldn't run for longer than 5 minutes at a time, being asthmatic, this was a massive challenge for me anyway.
Now, I am pushing myself to my limits to raise money for this charity that is very close to my heart.
A struggle running for 2 and a half hours, is nothing compared to the daily struggles people with Parkinson's face, and how frustrating it is to try and adapt.
I am so proud of the way my grandad has adapted to living with this condition. He has always got a smile on his face.
I am super excited to push my boundaries and raise money for such a lovely charity at the same time!
