On 4 October 2026, I’ll be taking on the Manchester Half Marathon — 13.1 miles around the streets of Manchester — to raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

Running a half marathon is something I’ve wanted to challenge myself to do for a while, but having a reason behind it makes every training run that little bit more meaningful.

I’m fundraising for Parkinson’s UK because Parkinson’s affects far more people than I think many of us realise. It doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed; it can have a huge impact on partners, families and friends too.


The training has already been a challenge! There have been early mornings, tired legs, questionable weather and plenty of moments where I’ve wondered why I signed up for this in the first place. 😂

But whenever a run feels difficult, I remind myself that I’m not doing it just for me.
