Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I’m taking part in Walk for Parkinson’s 100 Mile Challenge to help fund specialist care for people with Parkinson’s.
I'm uniting with thousands of others, all passionate about improving life for people with Parkinson’s.
Please support my efforts to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.
In 2017 I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Several years later it was discovered that my condition was medication-induced, caused by one of my heart medications. Although the cause was identified, I still live with a variety of neurological symptoms, including balance issues that can lead to serious falls, memory problems, tremors, and fatigue, to name just a few.
After my diagnosis, I joined the Swindon Parkinson’s Activity Group as a member and later became a volunteer and activity host. I now run the Walking Football team, support Tai Chi sessions, and assist with other activities and events organised by the group. I’ve made some great friends there and am passionate about continuing to support people affected by Parkinson’s in our community.
I try to stay as active as I can, and a sense of humour definitely helps along the way. This year, I’m taking part in this challenge for the fourth time to raise awareness and vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.
I would be incredibly grateful for your support—any donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference.
