Neilo’s 100km for Poppy xx
Thursday 12th JunOn 13th September, I am running the Thames Path 100 Kilometres Ultra to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, a charity that is close to my heart.
I’m running in memory of my beloved mother, who lived with incredible strength and dignity while battling Parkinson’s disease. Watching her navigate this condition was both inspiring and heartbreaking. It’s a disease that takes so much from those affected – not just physically, but emotionally, too; it impacts every aspect of patients’ lives. Sadly, I lost my mother to Parkinson’s disease in January 2023.
I’m determined to turn my grief into action. By running 100km, I want to honour her memory and contribute to the amazing work that Parkinson’s UK does: funding vital research, providing support to families, and campaigning for better treatment and care.
I know 100km is no small feat – and I’ll feel every step. I also know that it’s nothing compared to the daily struggle faced by those living with Parkinson’s. I would be incredibly grateful if you could support me by donating whatever you can. Every pound brings us closer to better treatments, and hopefully one day, a cure.
Much love
Neilo
