Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

My mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when I was very young. I’ve grown up seeing how the condition slowly changes things most people take for granted: walking, writing, even just speaking clearly. It doesn’t just affect movement. It affects confidence, independence, and mental health.

Over time, I’ve seen how Parkinson’s can make someone feel isolated, especially in social situations. Things that once felt easy, like going out, meeting friends, being active, can start to feel overwhelming. But through all of that, my mum has kept going. I’m so proud of how she’s handled it, and how she’s never given up.

That’s why I’m running the 2026 Bath Half in support of Parkinson’s UK. I’ve set myself a target of finishing in under 1 hour 40. This cause is personal to me. Parkinson’s UK funds research, support services, and campaigns to improve life for people like my mum. I want to do what I can to help.

If you’re able to donate, thank you, it means a lot
