Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

I am thrilled to share that I will be participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 6 April 2025. I am running to support Parkinson's UK, a charity that means a lot to me. My grandfather, who I affectionately called Gank was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2016, and passed away in 2022. I am running this half marathon in his memory and to raise funds for research and those affected by Parkinson’s.
This will be my first half marathon, so although I am nervous, I am excited to take on this challenge alongside my sister, Jess. I have already started my training, and set myself a goal of being able to run 12 kilometers by January to give myself a head start. It is going to be a tough challenge as the furthest I had ever run before signing up was 5 kilometres, but knowing that I am running for such an important cause is keeping me motivated.
Parkinson's UK does incredible work in supporting those affected by Parkinson's and funding vital research. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those living with this condition.
