Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
On the 4th March 2025, we lost Grandad Colin. He was the nicest, loving, funny Grandad I could have ever asked for. Every time I saw him he brightened up my day, always cracking a classic Dad joke…some more appropriate than others! He ways made me laugh and I will carry so many memories he gave me forever. Even towards the end, he never failed to make us laugh and was just as happy sitting in his armchair listening to us all chatting together…or getting jumped on by Izzy 🐶!! Their bond was just the best, we’d try and keep Izzy calm but she’d have none of it and loved Grandad just like the rest of us!
Unfortunately Grandad suffered with Parkinson’s for a few years towards the end of his life, but I want to make a difference and by supporting Parkinson’s UK, I can ensure the best treatment is discovered to help more amazing people just like Grandad Colin.
He never ever forgot to say how proud he was of me and I hope I can do him proud running my first ever half marathon!
