TCS London Marathon Sunday 2027

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Sunday 25 April and would really appreciate your support!

The profile picture is me and my best mate Jonny, taken far too long ago. We’re both now 47, have families and Jonny has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. This diagnosis is going to have a massive impact on his life, family and his job as a physiotherapist. I’ve wanted to do the London Marathon for years. I’ve been applying for the last 16 years at least. By coincidence I got a place through the ballot this year and will be raising money for Parkinson’s UK to help Jonny and people in his position and their families. I want to make sure that neither Jonny, or his family will have their lives diminished by his diagnosis. Every donation will go to helping Jonny (and others) get the support and treatment to live as normal a life as possible.  Please give what you can.

Thanks

We’re Parkinson’s UK. The charity that’s here to support every Parkinson’s journey, every step of the way. Wherever you’re from, whatever you need.

We don’t wait for change, we make it happen. We believe that together we’ll find a cure. But that’s not all we’re working for. We campaign for better health and care, fund research into groundbreaking new treatments, and run life-changing support services.

Families, volunteers, campaigners, fundraisers, scientists, health and care workers. We’re a powerful community united by one mission: improving life with Parkinson’s.

Thank you to my sponsors
