Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page!!!
In April, I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Parkinson's UK, and I would be incredibly grateful for your support.
I’ll be taking on this running challenge alongside some of my colleagues at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where we work in a research team dedicated to understanding the causes of Parkinson’s disease, with the goal of helping to inform the development of more effective treatments in the future.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve been managing a research study focused on identifying new genes linked to Parkinson’s and other movement disorders, through which I have had the privilege of working closely with patients and families affected by the condition. I have therefore seen firsthand the impact Parkinson’s Disease can have, and how urgently better treatments - and ultimately a cure - are needed.
Parkinson’s UK is an incredible charity committed to improving life for people with Parkinson’s, including by funding vital research.
I would therefore be majorly grateful for any donation (big or small!) that will help fund these essential breakthroughs and support the Parkinson’s community.
Thank you again <3
PS - please do wish me (and my knees) the very best of luck !!!
