I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 8 September 2024 to raise money for Parkinson's UK.
As you know, this charity is very close to the hearts of everyone in our family. My lovely Dad had Parkinson's Disease and we are forever grateful for the support, care, and advice Parkinson's UK offered us when we needed it most.
Their research is so important. The mission to find a cure and the need to understand why people get the disease is huge.
Worryingly, more and more young people are being diagnosed with Parkinson's and this is what has inspired me to run....
I'll be running my socks off to raise as much money as possible and your kind generosity will be very much appreciated. ❤️
It's 13.1 miles.... from Newcastle to South Shields 🫣
(and yes, I am definitely having a mid-life crisis 😬).
Also, for my beautiful Mum's 90th birthday, she has asked for donations to Parkinson's rather than gifts. Mum was Dad's carer for many years and she loved her weekly meetings at the Parkinson's group.
