Final Day

Sunday 19th Apr
Completed the 50 miles in 50 days Challenge.

I did this challenge in memory of my mother,  who suffered from Parkinson and passed away three years ago, having developed dementia.

I would have actually liked to have run, instead if having to walk, the mile a day for this 50/50 Challenge,  but having Plantar Fasciitis it wasn't possible.  I wasn't able to go out everyday either, due to the foot problem.  I just hope I've done enough to complete the 50 miles in 50 days, and not let my lovely sponsors down. I am so grateful to them for supporting me, and helping me raise funds for the Parkinson's Society.

Sunny Stroll

Saturday 18th Apr
Nice stroll in the sun for closing days of Parkinson's Challenge.

I hear you

Friday 17th Apr
In town getting hearing aids fitted!  Then got a few steps in with a stroll round the shop, walk to daughters for coffee and cake, and back to bus stop.

Good (G)reef

Thursday 16th Apr
Not quite Austrailia, and no Great Barrier or Coral Reefs, but still a nice stroll round the harbour in the sun.

Foxy day

Tuesday 14th Apr
Pleasant walk in the sunshine. Mr Fox enjoying a day out in someone's garden.

Harbour Stroll

Monday 13th Apr
Bit behind with mileage, so pushed myself to do 2.5 mile stroll round harbour, before popping to the shops to buy some PJs.  Lovely warm sunny day.  Took a flask of coffee with me and sat on a bench looking at the boats, birds, clouds and people.

Sunday Stroll

Sunday 5th Apr
Bit blowy but sun shining.

M & M Walk

Saturday 4th Apr
Around the bend . . . I mean around the block with Mr P .. tiptoeing through the tulips and bluebells.

Walk with a Friend

Thursday 2nd Apr
Lovely walk through allotments and along the prom with my lovely friend,  who brought the sunshine with her and into my day, after a morning of stress with my PC giving up and stressing me out.

Lunch on the beach

Tuesday 31st Mar
Hard work today with painful foot!  A naughty but nice late lunch sitting on the beach before my walk.

Stepping it up

Monday 30th Mar
Walk round the clothes shops today, after a visit to the dentist,  then walked to see daughter house to see grandkids, put feet and have coffee and hot cross buns, before walking to bus stop to go home.

Ice Ice Baby

Saturday 28th Mar
Walk round the block the long way to the shop to get some milk.  Had to ice painful foot when I got in, and just missed the downpour and hailstones.

Supermarket stroll

Wednesday 25th Mar
Used steps and mileage from trip to shops today. Testing out new Scholl insoles. Juries still out with regard less pain!

Posting!

Monday 23rd Mar
Walk today in search of a postbox!  Didn't find one! But found this pretty picture :)

Harbour Walk

Saturday 21st Mar
Longer walk today - feet aching! Combibed with stop for lunch.

Sleep-Walking

Monday 16th Mar
Not very altert today,  it felt like I was walking in my sleep, and the one mile seemed like 100 miles.

Sun Shine

Saturday 14th Mar
Sunny today for my walk.

Waves

Thursday 12th Mar
Blustery today.

Fortitude

Saturday 7th Mar
Fitwell says "Walking is strongly linked with developing mental fortitude, acting as a accessible, consistent practice that builds both physical resilience and mental toughness
. It serves as a tool for stress reduction, cognitive improvement, and emotional regulation."

Rewards

Monday 2nd Mar
Foot painful but managed daily 1 mile target.

Day 1 - managed a mile to and from our Sunday coffee shop stop for hot chocolate and toasted fruit bread!
.
Day 2 - managed a mile around harbour, after stopping at a cafe for coffee and a danish pastry!

Walk not Run

Friday 27th Feb
Sadly I won't be able run 50/50 as I have plantar fasciitis,  but I  will do my best to complete the challenge by walking a mile a day.

Fingers Crossed

Wednesday 4th Feb
I love these virtual challenges and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can complete this 50/50 challenge. I am suffering from Plantar Facisitis at  the moment and walking is very painful.  Even if it does cure itself I doubt I will be able to have enough time to train for running a mile a dzy for 50 days, so I may have to walk it.

Thank you to my sponsors
