Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m walking to fund Parkinson's UK's groundbreaking research into better treatments and a cure.
There’s no cure for Parkinson’s. Yet.
I'm uniting with thousands of others, all passionate about improving life for people with Parkinson’s.
I’m walking in memory of my wee mummy who passed away in November 2023. It was a very cruel and heartbreaking time seeing my mum become so frail and helpless. I miss her so much and as my family approach the first anniversary of her passing I want to do this walk in her memory.
My updates
Ding dong the wind didn’t stop us
Sunday 20th Oct Louise and I completed our walk in an incredibly sunny day with a bit of wind but such a lovely dayStorm Ashley has struck
Friday 18th Oct Parkinson’s UK has advised me they have cancelled the official walk on Sunday due to storm Ashley. I have however decided I am going to do a 5.5 mile walk anyway in memory of my mum - providing it’s not horrendous weather. If it is I will do the walk within the coming week. While your generous sponsorship has been for the official walk you can claim it back by contacting Parkinson’s UK directly on walk@parkinsons.org.uk to request your donation be refunded.
