Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm taking part in Pedal Causeway Coast for Parkinson’s UK on Sunday 28th June and would appreciate your support!
My Mum, who is 92, developed Parkinson's just over 8 years ago. Following several falls she is now in nursing care.
Witnessing the effects of Parkinson’s and time passing can be challenging and for me a sporting activity is often good for body and soul; at the beginning of 2026 I came across the Parkinson’s UK Pedal Series at the Causeway and immediately signed up! It is in an area close to where I grew up. I have dusted down my road bike, got it serviced and training has begun!
The event is an opportunity to create greater awareness of the disease and raise money for Parkinson's UK. Whilst I have completed several cycling events in the past, I have not cycled for several years so have decided to do the shortest route, which is 28 miles!
Thank you for visiting my page. If you are in a position to, you can help by sponsoring my cycling challenge. All the money raised will go towards ground-breaking research and life-changing support for the Parkinson's community.
