Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the TCS 2026 London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!
I joined Parkinson’s UK in summer 2022 and became part of the community of families, volunteers, campaigners, fundraisers, scientists, health and care workers who are united by our mission to improve life with Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s UK campaigns for better health and care, funds research into new treatments and runs vital support services.
As a member of the Facilities Team, I’m privileged to work with people across the organisation - I’ve been inspired by my colleagues’ dedication and even more so by meeting members of the London Parkinson’s community at their regular visits to our office.
When I assisted with the post London Marathon reception in April, I was so moved by the experience that I decided to enter the ballot – little did I suspect that I would by fortunate enough to secure a space! I now have around 7 months to go from someone who has never run longer than 5k to 42 kilometres. I’m excited to take on such a significant challenge and I could use all the help I can get. That’s where you (my family, friends and colleagues) come in!
