LET'S GO!
Running is a huge privilege and it's time to use it for something that benefits more than just my Strava stats, so myself and my good friend Naomi have decided to raise some donations for Parkison's UK at our next running challenge - Hackney Half 2026!
Parkinson's is a very complex brain condition which gets worse over time. In the UK today someone gets diagnosed every 20 minutes. We don't quite know what causes it and it affects everyone differently. This means every person needs high quality, tailor-made therapy and care services to manage their symptoms. It is a life-altering diagnosis.
Parkinson's UK offer a wide range of services for Parkinson's patients and their friends and family, however none of this would be possible without donations.
Let's see what your contribution is going to be spent on:
Parkison's UK pledge to do the following:
- Work directly with the NHS to improve services for everyone with Parkinson’s across the UK.
- Campaign for and fund more specialist Parkinson’s nurses, therapists and other healthcare professionals. And support them to give patients the best care possible.
- Educate non-specialist health and care professionals so they better understand the condition.
- Help patients and their loved ones navigate the system, and provide the information they need to demand better care.
I am truly grateful for any donation you are able to make towards this cause and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
