Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in Run 50/50 for Parkinson’s UK, running 50 miles in 50 days to support the Parkinson’s community.
If you’re able to sponsor me, I’d be so grateful. Every penny helps fund groundbreaking research and life-changing support for people living with Parkinson’s.
My grandad recently passed away after bravely battling Parkinson’s disease for many years, and watching him struggle with such a cruel disease was heartbreaking for my whole family. Parkinson’s slowly took away his independence and made every day tasks incredibly difficult. Yet he remained strong, loving and determined throughout it all. In his memory, I am challenging myself to run a mile everyday for 50 days to raise money for Parkinson’s research and support. I’m doing this not only to honour his strength and love he gave me but also to help other families who are going throughout the same pain and to contribute to finding better treatment and hopefully one day a cure. This challenge is my way for turning grief into something positive and meaningful that he would have been proud of. My grandad has a massive impact on my life and I wanted to repay him by raising money and awareness for a disease many don’t know things about.
