Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Once again I’m taking on the Great South Run on behalf of Parkinson’s UK — a charity that provides vital support for people living with Parkinson’s and funds groundbreaking research into better treatments and, one day, a cure.
Since I last ran for Parkinson’s UK, Parkinsons has tightened its grip on my family, tragically losing a family member, whilst my Dad’s own challenges worsen seemingly week on week.
For those less familiar Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and around 153,000 people in the UK are currently living with it. Every hour, two more people are diagnosed. It can affect movement, speech, sleep, mental health and everyday life, not only for those diagnosed but also for their families and loved ones.
Parkinson’s UK works tirelessly to provide advice, support services and research funding to improve lives and bring hope for the future.
I’d be incredibly grateful for any donation, no matter the size, to help support this amazing cause and keep me motivated through the miles. Every contribution really does make a difference. Thank you so much for your support!
