Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Saturday 24 April and would really appreciate your support!
I’m running for Parkinson’s UK because my Poppa lived with Parkinson’s disease during the last five years of his life before he sadly passed away in August 2020.
After retiring, he dedicated 20 years to running his local Parkinson’s Disease Society group. He was then later diagnosed with Parkinson’s himself.
He was always my biggest supporter, especially in football, which I’ve loved since a little girl. He also passed down his and my granny’s love for skiing which remains me and my mums favourite holiday to remember them by.
He was a huge family man and gave so much to everyone around him, because of this he was loved and known by so many. I hope to have half the determination and kindness that he displayed throughout his life.
Running the London Marathon is my way of honouring his incredible life while raising money to help Parkinson’s UK continue funding vital research and supporting people and families living with Parkinson’s.
