Individual Overseas Runs 2027

Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

Parkinson’s is a complex brain condition that has no cure. I've seen this first hand with my mum who is living with it.

Parkinson's is on the rise. Someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes in the UK today. By 2050, the number of people with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million.

I'm running the Madrid Marathon on 25 April 2027 to help fund research to find a cure for this disease and support everything Parkinson's UK does to support those with PD.

Why Madrid? 2027 marks 20 years since I packed my suitcase and booked a one way ticket to move to a city I'd never been to. So it seemed fitting to mark that anniversary by running a marathon (which I have never done before, in fact when I lived there I could barely run 1K!) and do all I can to help Parkinson's UK find a cure.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Parkinson’s UK.

Thank you to my sponsors
