Why I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Did you know that May is National Walking Month, and I have decided to join with others in walking 100 miles (maybe more) during the next 31 days to raise money to help fund specialist nurse care and research into new treatments and a potential cure for Parkinson’s disease.
Until mum was diagnosed almost 20 years ago, I knew very little about Parkinsons during this time mum was fortunate to have almost the same specialist nurse by her side and I know that she really valued her. From speaking to others this seems like a rare occurrence, however, like all specialist nurses these are the people who are invaluable not only to the sufferer but also the support they provide to other family members.
