Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

This year marks 10 years since my dad was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s at just 56. I’m taking part in the Bath Half Marathon 2027 for him, and for everyone living with Parkinson’s and the people around them. My dad's positivity and determination is a huge inspiration to me. Please help me to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK by sponsoring me whatever you can. Thank you!

A quick fundraising update...

Tuesday 9th Jun
This weekend I completed Couch to 5K and ran my third parkrun, finishing in a new PB of 33:01 - as before, running the entire 5K without stopping.

Back in April, running continuously for 30 minutes felt a long way off, so I'm really proud of how far I've come in a short space of time.

The next step on my journey to the Bath Half Marathon is moving into my local running club's 5K-10K training programme. My first session (tonight) after graduating was a 1-mile time trial – a bit of a baptism of fire! Thankfully it went better than expected, and I finished in 8:01.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. Every donation for Parkinson's UK helps keep me motivated as the training continues towards Bath Half 2027!

I've just run my FIRST EVER 5K!!!

Week 8 C25K - heatwave!

Wednesday 27th May
Back in the second week of April, I started Couch to 5K not really knowing whether running was something I’d stick with.

At the time, even running continuously for a few minutes felt tough. Fast forward to now, and today I completed the first run of Week 8 — 28 minutes non-stop in 26°C heat!

There have definitely been moments along the way where I’ve questioned whether I actually enjoy running at all, especially during the harder runs and hills. But I’m starting to realise that running is just as much mental as physical. Every week seems to bring a new challenge, but also a new sense of progress.

What’s kept me going is the feeling afterwards — knowing I’ve pushed through something difficult and come out stronger each time.

I’m training towards the Bath Half Marathon 2027 in support of Parkinson's UK, a charity doing incredible work supporting people affected by Parkinson’s and funding vital research.

Thank you so much to everyone supporting me so far — both the encouragement and donations genuinely help on the tougher days of training.

First Parkrun 09/05/26

Wednesday 13th May
On Saturday, I completed my Couch to 5K Week 5 Run 3 — a continuous 20-minute run — at my first ever parkrun! After a warm up walk I ran 3.1km to complete the session, then after a brief walk, a friend encouraged me to keep going and I ran all the way to the finish, adding another 0.9km for a total of 4km running.

Thank you to my sponsors
