Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 8 September 2024 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
My Grandad was diagnosed with Parksinons in 1996 and lived with the condition until he passed away in 2013. Parkinson’s is a truly debilitating illness, which slowly degrades a persons nervous system, making it difficult for them to walk, talk and retain any kind of independence. My Grandad was diagnosed the year he retired, meaning he never got to fully reap the rewards after a life of hard work.
Parkinson’s UK provides support to those diagnosed with the condition, as well as their loved ones, whilst also funding research that searches for possible treatments. For my family, the Parkinson’s Club in Harlow was a great solace, and something that benefitted both my Grandad and Nan, who acted as his full time carer.
Please help by sponsoring me whatever you can. All the money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK nurses, to provide much-needed advice, support and information for people who are living with the condition.
Thank you to my sponsors
