Charlie and Matilda are taking on the London Mini Marathon 2026 to raise money for their Grandpa Spencer and for Parkinsons Uk
My dad is currently in the end stages of Parkinson’s disease. Every day, we watch him deteriorate, and it’s heartbreaking. Parkinson’s is relentless — it doesn’t just take away movement, it steals independence, dignity, and so much more from the people we love.
While my dad is still with us, we want to do something that matters. Unfortunately I wasn’t successful with my marathon entries this year, but we still really want to try and raise as much money as possible.
Their Grandpa Spencer has been battling the disease for 19 years now. Our whole family know the daily challenges that people have to overcome with this disease.
Charlie and Matilda are hoping to raise money to make their Grandpa even more proud of them and to support this amazing charity 💙
Parkinson’s is a complex brain condition that has no cure and gets worse over time. It has more than 40 symptoms, from tremor and pain to anxiety. And Parkinson's is on the rise. Someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes in the UK today. By 2050, the number of people with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million.

I am so proud of my Grandchildren, Charlie and Matilda. Unfortunately in their lifetime they haven’t seen Spencer as the man he use to be as Parkinson’s has robbed them of that. Spencer will be so proud of them both, he loves them to bits. I have watched my husband over many years being consumed by this evil disease.
