Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK. Two of my friends are living with Parkinson’s and have experienced different challenges in their lives. Parkinson’s UK have been there to support them through these challenges and I would be proud to support their efforts through this challenge

Last race of my 50’s
Wednesday 18th Feb
Well the first big test for the Great North Run was successful. A chilly canter around Salford Quays for the Media City Half Marathon on Sunday yielded a new PB of 1Hr 34mins and 46 seconds. To say I was pleased is something of an understatement, and what’s more IT DIDN’T RAIN….in MANCHESTER!! Rewarded myself with some serious carb loading at LS Lowry’s local. Fund raising has started well and as my 60th Birthday approaches with alarming speed I am hopeful this will spur lots of people on. Just need to keep the old training going and stay fit…so not too much Birthday Cake then!
