Josh's Great North Run 2024 for Parkinson's UK
Hi everyone!
I'm running the Great North Run half marathon on 8th September 2024 for Parkinson's UK.
Raising money for Parkinson's UK is really important to me personally. My Da (meaning grandad/dad in Geordie) has lived with Parkinson's Disease for over 10 years, and running my first half marathon in the North East - Da's childhood home - means a lot.
Parkinson's Disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease, yet medical treatments are still relatively underdeveloped. Day to day, living with Parkinson's can be really physically and mentally challenging, and families & carers can often feel overwhelmed. Parkinson's UK helps to tackle these issues, by funding lifechanging research and by providing important social support to those living with Parkinson's and their families.
Any donations are greatly appreciated and will go a long way in changing the lives of many people around the UK.
