Why I am Running!
I am running the Brighton Marathon 2026 for Parkinson’s UK for a very personal reason. My grandad, Eton, lives with Parkinson’s. Watching what he faces every day is incredibly hard, especially knowing that all he would really love is to be outside playing tennis and sport with his family and friends like he used to.
Some of my favourite memories with him are the simple ones. Sitting together playing Cribbage and Scrabble, with him pretending to be competitive but somehow always letting my grandma win. Him proudly trying to show off his new balancing skills with a smile on his face. When I was younger, he would always ask me the same question, without fail, “Do you have a girlfriend yet?” And then there are the stories that leave us all crying with laughter, especially the one about him bending someone’s knife under his shoe in the south of France after they threatened my dad and uncle. That sums him up perfectly. Protective, fearless and full of character.
Parkinson’s has taken so much from him, but it has not taken his humour, his stories or the love he has for his family. I cannot fix what he is going through, but I can show up for him. I can run in his honour and push myself in a way that reflects the strength he has always shown.
If you are able to support my fundraising, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support helps fund vital research and provides real help to people and families living with Parkinson’s right now.
Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can give.

Targets
Tuesday 3rd Mar I’ve set myself three time goals for race day to keep me focused and motivated. My A goal is to run sub 3:30, which would be a huge achievement for me. My B goal is to go sub 3:50 and put in a performance I’m proud of. And my C goal, no matter what happens, is to beat my dad’s marathon time of 4:15. ShareThank you to my sponsors
