I’m running the London Marathon 2027, here’s why.

On 24th April 2027, I'll be taking on the London marathon for a cause that means so much to me - raising money for Parkinson's UK.

My mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2017, when I was just 11. By the time I stand on the start line, it will have been 10 years since we found out the news. 

My mum takes everything in her stride and continues to be as strong as ever, but I see the challenges she faces everyday. Watching someone you love live with a condition that has no cure is extremely difficult. But seeing my mum face it with such strength and determination every day is truly inspiring and its one of the reasons I want to take on this challenge - and make her proud.

Running the 26.2 miles is going to be a massive challenge. There will be moments I want to stop, but every moment will be worth it if it helps raise money for such an important cause. Having seen first hand the impact Parkinson's has on those living with it and the people around them, I know just how vital the work of Parkinson's UK is.
