Great South Run 2025

Hi Everyone,

Firstly, thank you for visiting my donation page! To give you a bit of background into the creation of this page, I have decided to take part in the Great South Run this year. This is a 10 mile race and is the first race I have ever entered. Although I'm feeling a little nervous to complete it, I have been dedicated to my training and running in aid of Parkinson's UK is all the motivation I will need.

Parkinson's UK is an organisation that works extremely hard to support those living with Parkinson's and strives towards improving treatment for those affected. 

Parkinson's is a disease that unfortunately has touched myself and my wife's family in a profound way. Attached to this post you will see a beautiful picture of Nanny June. June was born on the 3rd June 1940 and was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 48. Having already lived a fruitful life, with raising two daughters and welcoming grandchildren into the world, (just to mention a few of the highlights), June was determined to continue living her life as widely as she could. Some of her favourite things included enjoying having her family come and visit. She would always insist on them helping themselves to one of the various sweet treats in the cupboards, that she would also enjoy! She also loved going to Sandown pier with the family and playing on the slot machines, she always seemed to win! To sum up, June just loved being surrounded by her family. June passed away at the age of 83 last year, of course, as she would have wanted, surrounded by her family.
