Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
My dear Mum was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 2010, so when she passed away last year, she had lived with this disease for a 3rd of my life.
She was so full of life and love for everyone around her, and, despite everything, always had a smile on her face and a love for sweet treats!
My friend's dad also lived with Parkinsons for many years, so I have seen first hand how it can affect people.
Advances in medicine and research has made it possible to manage symptoms and maintain a high quality of life, however, a cure must be found.
Your donations are essential to continue this work. All money raised will help fund breakthroughs and help support the Parkinson's community.
Thank you
