I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK in memory of Chris Genge
I'm taking part in Pedal Wye Valley for Parkinson’s UK on 20 September & would really appreciate your support in raising funds for Parkinson's UK in Chris's memory.
During Chris's career as a teacher his patient & supportive nature was appreciated by generations of children.
In retirement, he became a stalwart of the West Berkshire Countryside Volunteers; who have weekly work parties conserving valuable wildlife sites across the county.
His dedication and commitment to the Volunteers for so many years has been a lynchpin in creating todays vibrant organisation and its contribution to the valued conservation of the West Berkshire countryside. His generosity of time & expertise was fundamental to creating the feeling of companionship & camaraderie that we all enjoy.
Chris coped with Parkinson's with great fortitude & good humour. Even when his illness had started to take its effect, he made every effort to make it out on a Tuesday. His knowledge, willingness to help everyone and kind nature will be very much missed.
Tuesdays will not seem quite the same again.
Chris was also active in many other community groups in the Hermitage area.
All the money raised will go directly towards ground-breaking research and life-changing support for the Parkinson's community.
