Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
I’m walking to help fund specialist Parkinson’s care to thousands more people who urgently need it.
Thousands of us are uniting to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, get access to the support they need.
Allan & I are taking part in the 2 mile walk at Hylands Park in Chelmsford - two miles may not seem like a long distance but I have Parkinson’s and struggle with walking far and Allan is a diabetic with peripheral neuropathy in his feet so for both of us it is a real challenge. I was recently luck enough to have Deep Brain Stimulation surgery which has helped enormously with many of my symptoms but it is not a cure. My local Parkinson’s Nurse was the one who referred me so I am well aware of the importance of the role.
Thank you for supporting us xx

Alternative training
Sunday 28th Jun Well I hadn’t really thought of going to a Take That concert as a form of training but by the time my friend Susan and I had walked to and round The London Stadium, climbed about 100 steps to our seats then had to descend and reclimb them again when nature called, then descended for a second time to leave at the end and walk a very long round and about way back to Stratford station - well I think training in the traditional way was easier! Training
Friday 8th May Went to Hylands Park today to get a feel for the location of the actual walk. We walked just short of 2 miles which I found quite difficult- in fact it nearly killed me. But I did it and am getting a bit more confident. I will do it! X Share
