TCS London Marathon 2026

My activity tracking

151

My target 26 miles

I'm fundraising for a wonderful charity that can change so many lives

It's amazing that I'm taking part in the TCS 2026 London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK and would really appreciate your support!

Parkinson’s is a cruel and incurable disease that affects thousands of families across the UK. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a life that has been changed forever.

That’s why I’m running in support of Parkinson's UK — and for everyone living with this condition.

Until a cure is found, the work they do is vital. They fund research, support families and fight for better care and understanding of Parkinson’s.

Every step I take is for those who face this disease every single day.

If you’re able to sponsor me, your support will make a real difference. Together we can help fund the research and support services that bring us closer to a cure.

🏅 OFFICIALLY AMAZING… AND PART OF HISTORY 🏅

Saturday 2nd May
🏅 OFFICIALLY AMAZING… AND PART OF HISTORY 🏅 On 26th April 2026, I crossed the finish line of the London Marathon — but this wasn’t just any marathon… This year set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of finishers ever: 👉 59,830 finishers out of 60,512 starters And I’m proud to say… I was one of them. But this run was about far more than the miles. I ran to raise money and awareness for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK in Scotland — a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart. Every step, every mile, every moment of doubt… it was all driven by purpose. To everyone who supported, donated, shared, or sent a message — thank you. You weren’t just supporting a marathon… you were supporting something that truly matters. Sometimes you don’t realise you’re part of something historic until you’re in it. This time… we didn’t just run a marathon. We made history — and made a difference 💙 If you’d still like to support or learn more, here’s the link: 👉 https://events.parkinsons.org.uk/fundraisers/jimparker/london-marathon-2026 #LondonMarathon #GuinnessWorldRecord #ParkinsonsUK #MadeHistory #RunForACause #KeepGoing #FifeProperties #WealthCreationMindset

🏃‍♂️ THE DAY HAS ARRIVED

Friday 1st May
🏃‍♂️ THE DAY HAS ARRIVED
After months of training… setbacks… and a lot of miles…
Today’s the day.
I’ll be lining up for the London Marathon shortly — and if you want to follow the journey, you can track me live on the official app:
This run means more than just 26 miles.
I’m running in memory of my dad, who I lost after a long battle with Parkinson’s — a disease that affects thousands of families and still has no cure.
Today, every step is for him.
Every step is for those living with Parkinson’s.
And every step is for finding a cure.
I’m raising funds for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK in Scotland — and there’s still time to support if you’re able.
👉 Donate here: https://events.parkinsons.org.uk/.../london-marathon-2026
If you can’t donate, even tracking me, sharing this post, or sending a message of support will mean a lot.
Let’s do this. 💙🏃‍♂️

Straight off the finish line rushing to the Airport

Friday 1st May

🏁 WE DID IT

Friday 1st May
🏁 WE DID IT
I’ve crossed the finish line of the London Marathon, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without all of you.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve smashed the fundraising goal for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK in Scotland 💙
I’m not going to lie…….I’m sore in places I didn’t even know existed 😅
But every single step, every mile, every minute was worth it — to raise funds and awareness for a disease that affects so many families across Scotland and the UK.
There is still no cure for Parkinson’s, but together, we’ve taken a step closer.
If you’ve already donated — thank you. It genuinely means more than you know.
And if you were thinking about it, there’s still time to support:
Let’s keep the momentum going. Here are a few standout moments from the day 👇
💙🏃‍♂️

🏁 POST-LONDON MARATHON: RECOVERY MODE

Friday 1st May
🏁 POST-LONDON MARATHON: RECOVERY MODE
The race might be over… but the work isn’t.
Right now, recovery is everything.
After 26.2 miles, your body is completely depleted — glycogen stores empty, muscles damaged, hydration levels down.
That’s where nutrition becomes critical.
It’s not just about eating — it’s about:
• Refuelling properly
• Rehydrating
• Repairing muscle
• Giving your body what it needs to recover and rebuild
Because what you do after the marathon is just as important as what you did before it.
And while I’m focusing on recovery…
I just want to say a huge thank you.
Together, we’ve raised just under £2,500 so far for Parkinson's UK and Parkinson's UK in Scotland 💙
That’s incredible.
Every single donation is helping fund research, support families, and move us closer to a cure.
If you’ve already donated — thank you.
If you’ve supported, shared, or followed the journey — thank you.
And if you were thinking about donating, there’s still time:
Now… time to eat, recover… and try walking normally again 😅

🏃‍♂️ 2 DAYS TO GO… AND I’M RESISTING THE URGE TO RUN

Friday 24th Apr

🏃‍♂️ LONDON MARATHON – 5 DAYS TO GO

Thursday 23rd Apr

Taper Blues: Picked up an injury

Monday 20th Apr
I've been having to hold off running the past few days as I picked up an injury and don't want to make it any worse. On a pain level it's around 3 out of 10 and I'm sure it will not be an issue for the Marathon itself, but there's always a but and what if and it's the mental challenge I am having to over come just now and resist the urge to run. Somehow I think if I don't run for 1 week I won't be able to do the Marathon!!!!! Logic and everyone else says it will be fine but it's that little voice I have to contend with.

2 weeks to go. Training done. Now tapering.

Tuesday 14th Apr

Final Long Run Done 20 miles 3 weeks to go

Sunday 5th Apr

  4 weeks to go. 16.5 miles today… just under 3 hours. 🏃‍♂️

Sunday 29th Mar

5 weeks to go. Just ran 14 miles… and I’m in bits.

London Marathon Training Update: The Dark Side of Running

Sunday 15th Mar
🏃‍♂️ London Marathon Training Update: The Dark Side of Running

People often imagine marathon training as something heroic…

Scenic runs.

Fresh air.

Triumphant music playing in the background.

What they don’t tell you about is…

Nipple chafing.

Yes. After enough miles your running top basically turns into sandpaper.

At some point during a long run you suddenly realise something isn’t quite right…

Then you get home, look down and think:

“Well… that explains the burning sensation.”

But in all seriousness…

If a bit of chafing, sore legs and early mornings are the worst things I face during training, that’s nothing compared to what people living with Parkinson’s face every single day.

That’s why I’m running the London Marathon to raise funds for Parkinson's UK.

Parkinson’s is a progressive and incurable disease that affects thousands of families across the UK.

Every donation helps fund research and support people living with the condition.

So if you see me running around looking slightly uncomfortable…

Just know it’s all for a good cause.

If you’d like to sponsor the run, you can donate here: 👉 https://events.parkinsons.org.uk/fundraisers/jimparker

And to fellow runners…
