Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition with no cure. It slowly takes away control of movement, of independence, of everyday life. But what people don’t always see is everything behind it: the pain, the exhaustion, the anxiety, and the quiet battles fought every single day.
As a nurse, I’ve seen how conditions like this don’t just affect patients. They affect entire families. The adjustments, the sacrifices, the emotional weight. It’s something you don’t forget.
This is also deeply personal to me. I’ve seen close friends support loved ones living with Parkinson’s showing strength, patience, and love in ways that are both inspiring and incredibly hard to witness.
That’s why I’m running.
For the people living with it.
For the families carrying it with them.
For the hope that one day, things can be different.
Every step means something.
