My Marathon
Hi, I’m James Alexander and I am running Manchester Marathon on the 19th of April 2026 whilst raising money for Parkinson’s UK.
I decided to run a marathon as I love running and would like to test myself at marathon distance and decided on Manchester for its atmosphere, managing to get a place.
I decided after this that as this is my first marathon (hopefully not my only marathon!), I decided to raise money for a cause. After talking to a colleague of mine who is affected by Parkinson’s, I did some of my own research and found out how it affects people’s lives all around the UK.
Before my research, although I had heard of Parkinson’s I had no real idea just how it affected people. My research led me to Parkinson’s UK and I have decided to raise as much money for the cause as I can to increase awareness among the greater public.
I highly appreciate all donations and the charity will be in the forefront of my mind whilst I run and get the opportunity to represent the charity.
