Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK

We’re taking part in Walkies for Parkinson’s because we want to help fund the groundbreaking research that makes new treatments possible.

Research has already changed our lives — my husband, Steve, was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s ten years ago. He was recently given the chance to have deep brain stimulation, and his device will be switched on next month. We know just how much hope this treatment brings, and we want others to have the same opportunities.

For us, this walk is about giving back. By raising funds, we can play part in helping to drive forward the next breakthroughs, so that more families affected by Parkinson’s can benefit from new treatments.
