Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the Great North Run on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
My amazing Grandad John McWhinnie has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and this has become a cause close to my heart. I have spent countless hours researching Parkinson’s as it was an illness I didn’t know enough about before. I am supporting Parkinson’s UK to help further their wonderful research and allow them the ability to continue to support the individuals, families and communities that are impacted by Parkinson’s.
Please help by sponsoring my challenge, I have become more of a runner in recent months, but this half marathon will be an immense challenge for me.
I want to make you proud Grandad, and I’ll be thinking of you on every run I do between now and race day.
