Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon with my brother Sam for Parkinson’s UK on Saturday 24 April and would really appreciate your support!
Sam and I have both experienced firsthand just how tough life can be for those affected by Parkinson’s and also for their immediate support systems - both physically and emotionally.
Because of this we want to take on a physical and emotional challenge of a different kind to raise awareness and money for Parkinson’s UK, and believe the marathon suits this perfectly. By partaking in an event that is so well known, we hope to use the platform to educate others about the effects of the disease, and the amazing ways in which Parkinson’s UK supports those who suffer as a result. And also by contributing financially to assist the charity, so it can continue conducting vital research and pastoral care.
Over the past 18 years our family has benefitted immensely from the work of Parkinson’s UK in many ways, and have witnessed many of the physical and mental benefits of this, which is something we hope others can also experience through this charity’s important work.
We hope that by training together, and running side-by-side, we will be able to amplify the voices of those who suffer with and support people living with Parkinson’s, and make a positive impact!
