Why I am fundraising for Parkinson's UK
Hi everyone I've managed to get a ballot place for the Great North Run (13 mile half marathon) on 8 September 2024. I don't usually ask for sponsorship when I run, because I just like running. However as this is such an iconic race I've decided to try and raise vital funds for Parkinson's UK.
My dad suffered from Parkinson's as did my grandad and also my father in law. I've seen how this disease robs people of their mobility, then their dignity and finally their life. So anything you can support me with I know would be really appreciated by the charity. Thanks.
I'm hoping to be finished in about 2:15 minutes so if you watch the BBC (the whole race is televised) you may be able to see me finish at around 13:45.
