Final post
Sunday 3rd Nov I have now finished my challenge although Dadās watch is still updating this pageš¤. I would like to thank all my supporters and helpers. We have achieved more than Dad expected more on the fundraising side, he had little doubt he could do 60 miles. Obviously I have done at least twice that, Dad only walks in straight lines, whereas I go from left to right , up and down and all round into and out of hedges. I hope to do another walkie sometime.Day 31
Thursday 31st Oct The last day of the challenge. We started out with a good morning walkie.Dad hadnāt had a good nights sleep, so I was able to get in a few extra sniffs. The original plan was to have a good walk to finish off, but Dad was called into work. So we went in, and opened up. It was strange being the only ones there, until my friend Joel arrived. I spent the morning walking, chewing and playing with a few sniffs and a couple of naps thrown in for good measure. We went home in the afternoon and I was allowed to play outside. This time I stayed in the garden like a good girl. Then I had my tea and finally a good bedtime walkie to finish. Dad says we have done 80 miles. Well he has, I have done loads more š ShareDay 30
Thursday 31st Oct Another busy day, loads of walking and sniffing. It was a good day. I went for a good morning walk, sniffing all the hedges around. Then dad took me golfing I thought it was fun, but Dad swore never again. There were loads of Sniffing and trees and squirrels. Heaven š.Day 29
Wednesday 30th Oct A quiet day today, We had our morning walkie as usual.Plenty of good sniffs and a couple of birds trying it on. I saw them off. Dad then had to go to the Doctors (didnāt take meš). Another quick walkie before we went to work. Dad cleaned the carpets while I played and chewed in my office. We had a few short Walkies there. Then it was home for Tea and Bedtime walkie. Once again it was dark but I found plenty of excellent sniffs. I have told Dad that this blog needs to be included in my Memoirs, I am certain it will be a best seller, Dad disagrees. I already have a title. My favourite sniffs by Flossie Bonkers BroughĀ ShareDay 28
Monday 28th Oct First day of half term and just 3 more days to go in the challenge. Lucky I have already got there. Had a good mot walkie in the daylight again.still think I am having to wait an extra hour for breakfast. After a good play outdoors I made another trip to the Dogās Ā paddock. It was great fun. Lots of good sniffs and no leadšDay 27
Sunday 27th Oct Bit of a strange day today. I woke up at my usual time expecting Breakfast. But Dad refused he said I was an hour early. I protested but had to wait a whole hour for my breakfast. After letting me outside for a short while. Dad then went back to bed for more sleep š¤ Finally we got to go on our big walk it was really good, many sniffs and trees and hedges to explore. Only got tangled round a tree once . It was tangled sound Three times. We then had a drinks break by my training hall. Before returning home via the field where I got to runšDay 26
Saturday 26th Oct Five days to go in the challenge and Dad tells me we have already reached the 60 mile mark. Now I just want to see how far I can go. Today was training day so although we got up at the usual time, Dad made me wait until to was light before we started out on the home straight. It was a good walke sniffs everywhere I was really excited. The home to get ready for training. That was fun played with my friends Winston and Kiera. Dad said I did well. He obviously wasnāt paying attention I was out of this world. Ā After a trip to the shops I spent most of the afternoon playing outside before my Tea and the dash to the finishing line on my bedtime walkie, good sniffs all round. Managed to lose my flashing collar light, so we had to retrace our steps to find it. Apparently they donāt grow on trees.Day 25
Friday 25th Oct A day of Endless sniffing and much exploring with my Valiant friends. I walked with several of them in a lovely park. Sniffs abounded everywhere and I made sure I sniffed them all Ā The day started as usual a morning walk I. The dark then a drive to work. Some playtime and walks with my VIP friends before Dad took me to the valiant to play with my friends there I played with them all even did some training with some of them. The I went to the Park, home of much exploring and some excellent sniffs. I walked with N, L, C and S Ā before we had to go back then I was groomed and said goodbye to my friend T . He gave me a card saying I was the cutest dog he knewšš. A bit of resting at VIP before home for Tea and a goodnight walk. Tomorrow is training day. Canāt wait ShareDay 24
Thursday 24th Oct Dad says we are nearly at our target, but he wants to see how many miles we can do. The day started out Dark but no fog today, Dad was a bit sluggish but i took him on a good walk in the morning and got in some excellent sniffs. Then off to work our morning walk was a bit different today, Dad said something about a dead rat on our usual walk. Then Dad left me, so I had some fun time with my friends E and T. A great walk and they let me sniff all the timeš. Are you listening Dad. Ā I had one more walkie at work with Dad, he wanted to practice some loose lead walking. I of course was superb, Dad wasnāt as impressed he said I still need to practice šDay 23
Wednesday 23rd Oct Dad needed some persuasion to get up and get moving today. He really dislikes the dark mornings and today was foggy to boot. Still we went and got our morning walkie done. There were some most excellent sniffs this morning. Then off to work where I put in a hard days work. Walking, playing and I need to carry out an urgent Squeak removal on one of my toys. Pity about all the stuffing I needed to remove. His head is a little flat. To cheer him up I chewed off his nose and one of his ears š.Day 22
Tuesday 22nd Oct Big day according to Dad he told me to raise my bat as we have passed 50 miles. I looked at him as if he were daft. Still we started out in the dark and finished in the dark. In between I had a couple of short walkies before me and my friend K took Dad on a mile long circuit They were mean to me wouldnāt let me dive in to every hedgerow we passed . I managed to get into a few, only got tangled up once. Still I got in a lot of good sniffs. Hope I get another long walkie tomorrow š ShareDay 21
Monday 21st Oct Only 10 days to go on this challenge š Dad says we are going well. We once again started out in the dark only now it stays dark throughout the morning walk. Luckily the sniffs are unaffected by the lack of light. So Iām alright Jack.Day 20
Sunday 20th Oct Sunday morning, Dad gets a lie in, or I let him go back to bed after giving me my breakfast. Me and my bone joined him today and I had a good chew while he had an extra hour and a bit. Then it was up breakfast for Dad, would not let me helpā¹ļø. Then it was walkie time always a good one on Sunday Mike and a half with some great sniffing spots and a final footpath across a field where I can get in a good run. Back home I spent the day playing outside and sleeping until Teatime with the exception of a bit of posing in my new bandana. After the pictures Dad quickly removed it, pity it looked tasty. The evening walkie was fun, I found some sniffs that required a good long smell. Dad was getting a bit irritated at the end. Muttered something about his Tea. Ā Dad says we have done 45 miles 3/4 of the way to the total. Looking forward to more Walkies with my friends next week ShareWearing my new Bandana
Sunday 20th OctDay19
Saturday 19th Oct Saturday again, but no training today instead I went for my morning walkie a bit later . Dad waiting for daylight again!Day 18
Friday 18th Oct Been a good day, It started in the dark and ended in the dark. In between i had two Walkies down the lane in the dark Ā Dad needed a torch but I was fine. When I got to work I opened up the buildings checked for intruders and had a really good sniffing session. Then back to the office to do my work, you know playing and sleeping. A quick walk before Dad got back to take me to the Valiant. There I played with my friends did a bit of training Then went for Walkies with my friends N and L. Ā We also played with my puzzles and I showed how clever I am. Ā No Training tomorrow so will probably need to work hard to get dad upĀ ShareDay 17
Thursday 17th Oct Another early start, still in the dark, luckily I donāt need to see where I am going I can smell my way around. Still dad was not amused.it was getting lighter when we finished. Then off for another hard day of work. I went for a few walks one with my friend K that was fun he likes to go into bushes and round trees š² . Back to more office for some serious playing with more friends. Bit of training with Dad he seemed pleased so I must have been doing it right. Finally a few naps. Itās a hard life being an apprentice therapy Dog šĀDay 16
Thursday 17th Oct Still dark when we started out on another dayās Walkies, I still donāt like it much and I know Dad agrees. After a good walk with many sniffs, some of them really good, we went to work. I had more Walkies there one with my friends and Joel. Played with my toys for a while Ā and had a couple of visits from my friends. Then more Walkies overall it was a good dayās work. Then home for Tea and another good walkie we didnāt hang about it looked like rain, but I did get in some quality sniffingĀ ShareDay 15
Wednesday 16th Oct Donāt think Dad was at all keen to go for Walkies this morning. I was happy until something scared me , the I had to run all the way home towing Dad behind me. Not telling anyone what scared me though. Then off to work where I had a couple of shorter walks with my friends. Then home for Tea and a bedtime walkie, this time I was really brave and went past the scary place. Dad was struggling a bit so I tried to cheer him up by diving into every available hedge for a good sniff. Donāt think Dad is into sniffsĀ ShareDay 14
Monday 14th Oct Another dark start to our day, I am not enjoying the dark at least Dad is with me. After our walk it was into the car and off to work. As usual I opened up Stop Gap 1&2 checking for intruders in each building then went for a quick patrol of the grounds. Must be worth another biscuit a day surely. My friend Carl gave me some new toys to play with so I had to check them out. When Dad got back I went for 3 Walkies all together. One on my own and one each with my friends K and E. I went back to my room and played with my new toys until Dad came back to take me for a quick walk and bit of training in loose lead walking. Ā Then home for Tea and my Bedtime walkie. The sniffs tonight were outstanding I had to stop regularly to check them out. It meant our walk to a lot longer. Dad did no appear to share my enthusiasm (big word that for a small š¶) Still they my be there tomorrow š ShareDay 13
Sunday 13th Oct Sunday, not my favourite day at least at the start. We woke up as usual and I had my breakfast. Dad let me out to have a sniff and other things. Then sent back to bed. I went with him to keep an eye on things. Dad slept for another couple of hours. I chewed my bone & my chew I even went down and collected one of my toys to keep us company. Dad was surprised when woke up in bed with Monkey. After Dad dressed we went for our Sunday walk. Nice and long with two bits where I can runš. Then it was back home. I played outside until Dad went golfing š. When he got back we played some more before my Tea and bedtime walkie. Back to work tomorrowĀ ShareDay 12
Saturday 12th Oct Almost half way there, today was Saturday so Dad told me. So although I had breakfast at the usual time my mornings walk was delayed until it was fully light. Safety precautions dad called, I just think it was him being lazy. After a good rest and some play it was time to go training. Once again I was superb, dad thought I showed promise. What does he know. Back home I spent a leisurely Dad doing doggy things.ĀDay11
Friday 11th Oct An exciting day today. It started out with our Morning walkie, in the dark unfortunately but it was lighter at the end. Then off to work to open up VIP. I had a short walk then. Saw some friends while Dad was out driving. When got back it was off to the Valiant school to play with my friends there.I like going there, they still give me treats for being me. Dad had not got them to make me work for the treats yet. Then off to Westport Lake with 5 friends Dad and my mate Shaun. Me and Shaun chased the geese before I went exploring with N we checked out the grassy area before we went into the woods. Really great time there loads of exciting sniffs. I didnāt want to leave but i had to go back to the school before we went home for another bedtime walkie. Not so good as Dad was feeling unwell and he was getting grumpy so I did not get in as many sniffs as I would have liked. Training tomorrow ššš¾ ShareDay 10
Thursday 10th Oct A lot busier today, started out in the dark, Dad was not happy but we made a good half mile walk. It was brighter when we finished. Then off to work, where I opened up both buildings and checked that there was nothing to worry about . When Dad left to do his driving I had several visitors to play with and several walkies . I was then allowed to go on a drive home sitting with two of my friends.ĀDay 9
Wednesday 9th Oct A quiet day today, we took it easier as I am so far ahead of schedule. We started with our usual early morning walk, started in the dark but it was much lighter when we finished. Then off to work where I had a short walk opening everywhere and checking for rats. For the rest of the day my dad was on trips so I was left to my own devices, playing, cuddling new friends like E Ā and sleeping. I was pleased when Fad returned got very excited and carried away with it all. We then had two short Walkies at home, one just after my Tea and a second bedtime walkie. My dad claimed to be shattered, got no stamina unlike me . Hopefully tomorrow will bring more Walkies and more time wi my Dad ShareDay 8
Wednesday 9th Oct Dry this morning but still dark and gloomy. Dad was reluctant to get up, I needed to employ the big guns to get him up. Both paws and and jump on top of himš. Despite the slow start we had a good walk with some excellent sniffs. Then off to work where I made a new friend. I had a few Walkies around the block. Sniffed rats so had an excited run and sniffing session. Played with my toys for a while before going home. Our bedtime walkie was a bit earlier as Dad has lost his torch. Still it was a nice walkie with great sniffingš ShareDay 7
Monday 7th Oct We started off in the gloom and did our morning walk, not too keen on the dark but Dad was with me. Then it was off to work a bit late as Dad couldnāt find something important. Might be important to him but I was left sitting in the car with the door open. All those lovely smells I couldnāt get too. We were late at work so I missed out on my walk around the grounds. Luckily while Dad was off , my friend K took me for a good walk. Donāt tell Dad I had a couple of shorter walks before I went for my bedtime walkie. It was raining and we got wet but I did get in some quality sniffs. Met my mate Jet and we had a little play, they wouldnāt let us play for long though. Maybe next timeš¤ ShareDay 6
Sunday 6th Oct This morning I let Dad have his lie In but only after I had my breakfast. A girl needs her breakfast in a morning. Then after Dad had eaten his breakfast we went on our usual Sunday morning walk. Plenty of good sniffs and two bits where I could go on the long lead and stretch my paws with a good runšDay 5
Saturday 5th Oct The day started a little late. Dad muttered something about weekend and lie in, but he did take me for my morning walk. Then after a rest we went training with my mates. I was outstanding but Dad didnāt agree he said I need to work on a few things. What does he know šDay 4
Friday 4th Oct Cold and misty this morning but that did not deter us from our morning walk. Dad said he will use my disco light in future. After a brief stop at VIP I went to the Valiant School for a visit and walked for an hour with my friends from there. It was great fun lots of new smells Ā to sniff and explore. My friend N walked me around and showed me the sights. I showed him some of my tricks and got some treats in returnš .After playing with my new friends I came home and dad put on my flashing light To do our last walk of the day. Tomorrow I go training and meet up with my matesš¤ ShareDay 3
Thursday 3rd Oct I am really enjoying all these Walkies.it was a good idea to take up this challenge l. After my normal morning walkie I went to work and there I Had a l a long walk with my friends K ,G and E ,we took Dad along as I think he needed the exercise. I did. try to explore the Hedgerows but they would not let me. Maybe next time š Still got home had tea and went out for a final walk before bed. Dad says we are doing well, might even get a day off. I have him a hard stare. Day off indeedĀ ShareDay two
Wednesday 2nd Oct My dad didnāt want to get up today it took a cold wet nose several licks and a well placed paw to get him moving. He was busy most of the day so I had to do my Walkies with Joel and my other friends. They gave me a good walk with some really good sniffs. Finished off with a long bedtime walk . Looking forward to another days Walkies tomorrowĀ ShareFirst Day
