TCS London Marathon Saturday 2027

2027 TCS London Marathon

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I’m taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon for Parkinson’s UK on Saturday 24 April and would really appreciate your support!

The charity that’s here to support every Parkinson’s journey, every step of the way. Wherever you’re from, whatever you need.

In April 2027, I'll be taking on the London Marathon for Parkinson's UK, a charity that means a great deal to me and my family.

My mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's in December 2019. Like many people, I knew very little about the condition at the time. What followed was a journey that none of us were prepared for.

Parkinson's is often thought of as a condition that progresses slowly over many years, but for my mum it moved devastatingly fast. We watched as new symptoms appeared, independence was gradually taken away, and everyday life became increasingly difficult. It felt as though every day brought a new challenge and another battle to face.

In September 2024, we lost my mum.

At the time, I was navigating one of the happiest and most demanding periods of my own life. I had five-month-old twin boys and had recently moved house. Like so many people caring for loved ones while raising young families, I was trying to balance everything at once.

One of the hardest things about losing my mum was knowing that my children would grow up without really knowing their grandma (NinNin). And for me, becoming a mum without having my own mum there beside me has been incredibly difficult.

I'm running this marathon because I don't want other families to experience what I did.

Every donation will help Parkinson's UK fund vital research, improve support for people living with the condition today, and bring us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure. Most of all, I hope it helps create a future where fewer families have to watch someone they love go through what Parkinson's did to my mum.

The 26.2 miles ahead of me will be tough - I am not a runner, but they are nothing compared to the challenges faced every day by people living with Parkinson's and the people who love them.

Thank you for supporting me and Parkinson's UK. Every donation no matter the size, will make a difference.
